On October 2, 2023, Khwopa College of Law participated in a Discussion program on research areas in legal education organized by The Crime Investigation Department of Police Headquarters, Naxal. The program was chaired by Additional Inspector General of Police Mr. Tek Bahadur Tamang. SSP Manoj Kumar K.C. presented the concept paper, in which he highlighted 15 different topics of crime investigation where research is needed. SSP K.C. discussed the following issues of crime investigation in more detail in his presentation.

- Impact and challenges to community Security through social crime linked to abuse of social media
- Current Status of Economic crime investigation of Kathmandu and the significance of implementing a plan
- The social functioning underpinning the hostile attitude of victims and witnesses during the trial in Gender-based violence
- International practice on Organized crime and challenges in Trans-National Coordination
- Community role in curbing drug-related cases and significance of the current implementing plan
- International practice of specialized crime investigation structure and work procedure and Nepal
- Current Status of crime linked to community superstition and prevention strategies.
- Current trends and challenges of human trafficking cases
- The causes of increased suicide cases in Nepal and the significance of prevention programs
- Legal protocol and structural provision of crime investigation apparatus in federalism and implementing challenges in the context of Nepal
The program was attended by DIG Arun Bhandari and Surendra Prasad Bhandari and SSPs, S.P.s, and inspectors officers from the Crime Investigation Department.
In the Closing remarks, Chairman Mr. Tamang emphasized the importance of research in legal education. He said that analysis can help to identify new and innovative ways to investigate and prevent crime. He also urged the participants to develop new research ideas and collaborate to conduct research. In the program, Rupa Thapa also put her opinion.
