      INTRODUCTION

      Khwopa College of Law Blog (KCL Blog) is an academic platform established under the Department of Advocacy, Research and Legal Skills (DARLS) to promote a culture of research, academic writing, and intellectual discourse among the students and faculty of Khwopa College of Law.

      The Blog provides a platform for the publication of original ideas, opinions, and analysis on legal and social issues of national and international significance. It aims to encourage academic engagement, strengthen writing skills, and foster the expression of diverse opinions within the college community. 

      KCL Blog is managed by the Research Committee of Khwopa College of Law under the supervision of DARLS.

      Objectives:

      KCL Blog has been established with the following objectives: 

      • To promote a culture of writing, research, and academic engagement within the institution.
      • To provide students with a student-friendly and accessible platform for developing research, analytical, and writing skills.
      • To provide space for the expression of diverse and contrasting opinions for self and institutional reflection.
      • To promote academic and solution-centric language.

      ARTICLE SUBMISSIONS

      Author Eligibility: KCL BLOG publishes articles written by the students and faculty of Khwopa College of Law. 

      Both individual and co-authored submissions are accepted.

      Topics of Interest:

      KCL Blog welcomes submissions on the following topics: 

      • Contemporary national and international legal issues
      • Constitutional law
      • Human rights and the rule of law
      • International relations and diplomacy
      • Social justice and public policy
      • Technology, environmental, and other emerging areas of law
      • Case reviews and commentaries
      • Book reviews
      • Event reports
      • Reflections on legal education
      • Academic or creative topics relevant to law and society
      • Auto-ethnographical legal writing
      • Reflections on classroom discussions  

      KCL Blog accepts only original, unpublished articles that are free from plagiarism and copyright infringement.  

      HOW TO SUBMIT AN ARTICLE?

      KCL Blog accepts submissions directly through the “Submission” section located at the bottom of the KCL Blog webpage. Hard copy submissions will not be accepted. 

      Please carefully note the citation and formatting requirements below before submitting.

      Citation and Formatting Requirements

      All articles should follow the formatting requirements specified below:

      • Word Limit: The recommended article length is between 800–2,500 words.
      • Document Format: Articles shall be submitted in Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx) format.
      • Language: Articles shall be submitted in either English or Nepali language. The language must be formal, respectful, and academically appropriate.
      • Citations: Author(s) are encouraged to follow the Khwopa College of Law's Citation Guideline. Citations shall be required only where information, ideas, data, or quotations have been obtained from other sources.
      • Content: Article shall be factually accurate and, where appropriate, supported by reliable sources.
      • Structure: Articles shall generally include a title, author's name, introduction, main discussion, conclusion, and references (where applicable). Author(s) may, however, adapt this general format, provided that the content remains clear and coherent for publication.
      • Ethical standards: Author(s) must respect academic integrity and intellectual property rights, avoid plagiarism, refrain from submitting defamatory, discriminatory, offensive, or unlawful content, and ensure that the information presented is accurate to the best of their knowledge.

      OUR REVIEW PROCESS

      Our review process includes the following steps:

      1. Author(s) submit their articles directly through the “Submission” section located at the bottom of the KCL Blog webpage. 

      2. The Research Committee reviews all submissions and may recommend acceptance, rejection, or revision. Minor editorial changes relating to grammar, formatting, language, and citation may be made without altering the author's original ideas.

      3. Recommended articles are forwarded to the Head of DARLS for final verification and approval. The decision of the Head of DARLS shall be final. Please note that submission of an article does not guarantee publication.


      Publication Schedule

      KCL Blog publishes approved articles on a monthly basis. Articles submitted on or before the 20th day of each Nepali (Bikram Sambat) calendar month will be considered for that month's edition. 

      For example, articles submitted on or before 20th Shrawan, 2083 will be published on 15th Bhadra, 2083 as the “KCL Blog Shrawan 2083 Edition.” 

      Submissions received after the 20th day of the month will be considered for publication in the following month's edition. 


      Review criteria

      The Research Committee shall review all submissions based on the following criteria:

      Relevance

      The article shall be relevant to the objectives and scope of the blog.

      Originality

      The article shall be original, unpublished, and free from plagiarism or copyright infringement.

       

      Academic Quality

      The article shall be supported by reliable sources, where necessary.

       

      Language and Grammar

      The article shall be written in clear, formal, respectful, grammatically correct, and academically appropriate English or Nepali.

       

      Ethical Standards

      The article shall not contain defamatory, discriminatory, offensive, or unlawful content.

       

      Word Limit

      The article shall comply with the recommended word limit of 800–2,500 words

      Title and Relevance

      The title of the article shall be concise and engaging, and the content of the article shall correspond to the title and the subject matter discussed.

      Suitability for Publication

      The article shall satisfy the overall standards of the blog and shall be suitable for publication, with or without minor revisions.

       

      Each criterion will be rated as Satisfactory or Needs Revision. Based on the overall assessment, submissions may be accepted, accepted with revisions, or rejected.
